Combat System Explained

Master the tag battle system and combat mechanics of 7DS Origin.

Combat Overview

7DS Origin features real-time action combat that combines character switching, combo attacks, and ultimate abilities. Unlike turn-based games, success depends on timing, positioning, and understanding each character's moveset.

Basic Controls

Standard Attack: Tap or click to perform basic combo chains (usually 3-5 hits). Each character has unique combo patterns. Heavy Attack: Hold attack button for powerful single hits that break enemy guards. Skills: 2-4 skill buttons for each character with cooldowns. Movement: Free movement in 3D space during combat.

Tag Battle System

The core mechanic of 7DS Origin is character switching during combat. You can bring up to 4 characters into battle and switch between them instantly. Switching mid-combo allows for extended combos and tactical advantages. Each switch has a brief cooldown.

Combo Mechanics

Link different characters' attacks for devastating combos. Example: Start with Meliodas 3-hit combo → Switch to Ban → Continue with Ban's rapid strikes → Switch to King → Finish with King's aerial attack. Mastering character switch timing is key to high damage output.

R-Abilities (Special Skills)

R-Abilities are unique movement/utility skills for each character. Examples: Meliodas - Demon Rush (gap closer), Ban - Snatch (pulls enemies), King - Levitation (aerial mobility), Elizabeth - Divine Wings (evasion boost). Use these to dodge, reposition, or set up combos.

Ultimate Skills

Ultimate meter fills by dealing damage and taking hits. When full, activate for a powerful cinematic attack. Ultimates provide invincibility frames during animation - use this to avoid boss attacks. Strategic ultimate timing can turn losing battles around.

Guard and Dodge

Perfect Guard: Block right before enemy attack hits for minimal damage and instant counter-attack opportunity. Dodge Roll: I-frames (invincibility frames) during dodge animation. Master dodging to avoid big attacks without losing DPS uptime.

Elemental Advantages

Some enemies are weak to specific elements: Demons take extra damage from Light (Elizabeth, Escanor), Nature enemies weak to Fire (Guila), Ice enemies weak to Fire. Check enemy info before battles to bring optimal team composition.

Team Synergy

Build teams with complementary roles: 2 DPS + 1 Support + 1 Healer is the standard safe composition. 3 DPS + 1 Healer for faster clears when you know the content. Always have at least one character with healing or sustain.

Advanced Techniques

Animation Canceling: Switch characters to cancel long attack animations and maintain DPS. Skill Weaving: Use skills between basic attacks for optimal damage. Ultimate Chaining: Coordinate ultimates for continuous invincibility frames during dangerous boss phases. Practice these in early story missions before attempting harder content.
